My iPhone is my everything. I mean, I love my MacBook Pro and iPad, but my iPhone is with me every minute of every day. And as a blogger, I need to stay pretty connected. It took me a while to find that perfect combination of apps. Aside from the usual social media apps, I’m obsessed with the following nine apps. They just make my life easier!
If your blog runs on WordPress, you need this app. I love it for so many different reasons, but the ability to approve and reply to comments on the go is lifesaver. When I first started blogging, I would wait until I got back to my MacBook to review comments – this was a HUGE delay and really slowed my engagement.
I run Google Adsense on my blog, and I love being able to check my stats and earnings from my phone. There isn’t nearly as many insights on the app as there are on the full site, but that’s to be expected. The Overview allows you to see your earnings for the day, yesterday and the month so far. It also shows last month’s earnings and your lifetime stats. You can tap on any of the stats to see them more in-depth. I love having all the basics at my fingertips!
It’s unhealthy to check your stats constantly, right? I know, but oh my gosh, you guys! I am obsessed with being able to pull up real-time stats whenever I feel like it. Just like Adsense, this app doesn’t offer everything the full-site does, but it offers a lot more than most apps! You can view your conversions and even segment your traffic – in the app!
There are a million to do list apps in the App Store, and I’ve probably tried like 900,000 of them. I’m obsessed with planning and lists, and I’ve found this app to be all I need to manage my daily blog tasks. You can tag, set due dates, view in list or calendar form. It’s perfect for what I need – a place to track my daily blog promotion tasks.
Have you ever thought of four really funny things to tweet but then you’re like, “Oh I don’t want to spam my followers” so you don’t post any of them? That’s where Buffer comes in. It’s a social media scheduler. I use it exclusively for Twitter, and I love that I can add to my buffer wherever I am because I normally think of things to post while on the go.
With all the changes to the main Facebook app, I love that I don’t have to try to locate my page every time there’s an app update. I use the Pages Manager to update and manage my blog’s Facebook and save so much time by not having to poke around in the main app trying to locate my page. And I have, on more than one occasion, posted to my personal page when I’m trying to post to the business. This app eliminates that possibility! Hooray!
Obviously, this is for Mailchimp users! I love the app because not only can you manage your subscribers on the go, you can draft emails. I guess you can draft emails in your notes app, but I love that they save to my account so I can pull them up and continue working from my MacBook.
How did people even get anything done before Dropbox? This is my favorite app for not only blogging but life in general. The secret to using this app is organization. Folders, folders, folders. I can’t say it enough. Life is so much easier with folders.
I have an entire folder on my iPhone of design apps, including multiple Adobe apps that I pay for monthly, but for blogging this is the easiest and fastest app. It’s perfect for when you’re in the middle of the grocery store and realize you forgot to promote your new post on Instagram. I mean, that’s what I’ve heard. I wouldn’t know. That definitely hasn’t happened to me.
Do you have any apps you swear by for blogging? Tell me about it in the comments!
